Welcome to Pilates in Nova Scotia

Our Pilates studio is located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Pilates is a mind body fitness experience and the exercise programmes are based on the Pilates Method. Whether you were directed here by design or by accident, the next few minutes of reading could change your life, no matter the town or even the country in which you live.

The Pilates system of exercise has the potential to improve your condition if you are merely out of shape, or if your ability to exercise regularly is affected by chronic back problems, osteoporosis, sacroiliac pain, neck or shoulder problems or osteoarthritis.

When taught by an appropriately trained Pilates teacher, Pilates can be extremely effective and help you to achieve measurable gains in your fitness levels, and to maintain those improvements for the longer term.

Pilates can be enjoyed in either a small group matwork class or in a fully equipped Pilates studio. A Pilates studio offers custom designed workouts. Matwork classes can deliver excellent well rounded workouts which can give extraordinary results and improve your health and wellness. The Pilates system of exercise is based upon non impact resistance, making it ideal for injury rehabilitation.

The continuing success of Pilates has resulted in many Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors setting up Pilates studios as part of their practices. Pilates is a safe and suitable form of exercise for all age groups and fitness levels. It can benefit anyone who wants to improve their health, personal fitness, or their quality of life.

Our Lunenburg based matwork classes and studio sessions are easily accessible to the neighbouring towns of Bridgewater and Mahone Bay.

Why not make the commitment to find a good Pilates teacher in your area and learn a method of exercise that could change your life!

Blessings always
Ian

TESTIMONIALS
' I have had treatment for my back due to muscle spasm, pelvic tilting and pain. It has taken 20 years to discover the simple fact that I have one leg shorter than the other. I have seen Neuro Surgeons and Osteopaths for years but since starting Pilates exercises two years ago with Ian Dilworth I have had no need to visit either. My back is so much stronger now and I hardly ever get back pain. I feel that I am in control and I can deal with my pain by simple exercise. Also I no longer have to take regular pain killers'.

'Pilates exercises have given me better posture and an awareness of correct posture. I have greater flexibility in my hips, knees and spine which were becoming stiff with age. I am only sorry that I didn't discover Pilates thirty years ago'!

'What do I like most about Pilates? 'The fact that I can really feel my body working. I might do 250 crunches but my body is so used to them that I don't really feel them. With Pilates, I can really feel [my abdominals] even if I only do six or 12 repetitions.'
Joan Collins -

who first started doing Pilates over 20 years ago
